BACKGROUND. I am the 4th of five children from Greenville, SC. Home is where I learned the value of laughter – especially at myself. My father’s influence is the reason I kid around a lot. Like him, I see great value in people and building relationships – and use a sense of humor to reach people.
I developed a love for design early in life as well -- being fascinated by cars and buildings. I constantly drew in notebook margins instead of taking notes in class.
After graduating from Clemson, I joined the Air Force and served as an officer and “Base Architect” for 4 years after graduating. After leaving the Air Force, I returned to Clemson for my master’s degree. It was during grad school that I married and traveled to Genoa, Italy for 4 months of studies.
CAREER. Over the years, I worked on a multitude of project types—from hospitals to aircraft hangars, retail, and, starting around 2000, multi-family. Within the multi-family realm, I have broad experience including student housing, senior housing, high-rise, and mid-density projects.
FAMILY. Faith and family are top priorities. I have a wonderful wife named Melody who is a full-time homeschool teacher and four children named Parker, Hannah, Graham, and Lydia.
